A study on obesity associated with women`s diseases


Abstract
According to economical development, the pattern of diet has been exchanged from carbohydrate to rich protein and fat. Obesity induces diabetes mellitus, hypertension, artherosclerosis, hyperlipoidemia, heart and C.V.A disease, etc. Especially women¢¥s obesity brings about not only external troubles but also diseases which men do not have. In other words, women¢¥s obesity leads to Amenorhea, Abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, poly cystic ovarian syndrome, abortion, luteal phase inadequacy, etc.
Obesity is, by definition, the condition which is excess fat stored in the body. If there are more calories than the basic nutritional needs in physical activity and growth, the excess is converted to fat and stored. Largely obesity comes from psychological and socioeconomic factors like overeating, lack of exercise, heredity, unbalanced caloric intake, excessive drinking, marriage, prohibition of smoking. In Oriental Medicine, it is thought that obesity mainly arises from dampness and causes deficit of Qi.
Nowadays a lot of treatment of obesity have been tried such as diet, exercise, surgical operations, medicines and so on. In Oriental Medicine, they have tried out Acupunction-Tx, Negative-Tx, Massage-Tx, etc with Herb-Medication.
